Orenda Connect

A desktop and mobile app for private remote access to apps, devices, servers, and industrial systems without opening the whole network.

Private access for apps and devices

Orenda Connect gives teams a private way to reach internal apps, industrial systems, servers, and on-site devices. Users open only the resources they are allowed to use. The target can be a web app, SCADA/HMI, RDP, SSH, a support tool, a machine, or an Orenda Box.

How teams use it

Create a project, add the resources your team needs to reach, invite users, assign access, then open the approved resource from Connect.

  1. Choose or create the project for a site, customer, or team.
  2. Add the application, service, server, device, or machine that should be reachable.
  3. Invite users and organize them by team or role.
  4. Choose who can open each resource.
  5. Create a target-scoped partner link, with an optional expiry, when an outside team needs access.

Who uses it

Orenda Connect works as a private access app for industrial, IT, service, and support teams.

IT and OT teams

Give people access to internal apps, devices, or services without handing out broad network access.

Machine builders

Support customer equipment and service tools after delivery from a repeatable access workflow.

Operations teams

Open approved operational screens, servers, or apps from one client.

Service coordinators

Give outside partners target-scoped access to the exact resource they need.

What you can do

Private access to resources

Reach apps, devices, servers, machines, and services from one client.

Users and groups

Organize people into teams or roles so access decisions are easy to review.

Resource-level permissions

Give each person access only to the resources they need.

Partner links

Give an outside partner access to one resource, with optional expiry and revocation.

Desktop or mobile

Work from the desktop app in the office or from mobile when you are on site.

Works with existing systems

Use it with web apps, SCADA/HMI, RDP, SSH, support tools, and machine systems.

Access is resource-specific

Orenda Connect is designed to avoid broad access to the whole site network. A user gets the resources they are approved to use, and that access can be removed when it is no longer needed.

People and teams

Access can follow users, groups, roles, or the way your support team is organized.

Resource-by-resource access

A partner can be given one application or service without opening unrelated systems.

Optional expiry and revocation

Support links can have an expiry and can be revoked when access is no longer needed.

Simple app launch

Users open approved resources from the client instead of learning custom network paths.

Orenda Connect questions

How is Orenda Connect different from broad network VPN access?

Orenda Connect is organized around approved resources such as an app, server, device, RDP host, SSH host, or machine-side service. It is intended to avoid giving every user broad reach across a site network. Exact target, protocol, identity, endpoint, and network requirements still need to be validated in a pilot.

Do I need an Orenda Box to use Orenda Connect?

Not for every use case. Connect can be evaluated for access to an existing supported application, device, server, or service. Choose Orenda Box as well when the project also needs a machine-side industrial computer for selected PLC data, local MES or SCADA, diagnostics, or other approved edge applications.

Which targets can Orenda Connect be evaluated with?

Typical targets include web applications, SCADA or HMI applications, RDP, SSH, support tools, servers, devices, machines, and Orenda Box resources. Compatibility is deployment-specific, so test the exact application, protocol, endpoint, site egress, and failure behavior before rollout.

Can outside partners receive limited access?

A partner link can be scoped to one selected resource, can have an optional expiry, and can be revoked. Organizations that require named-human identity, session evidence, or other controls should validate those requirements separately and keep their own approval and change procedures.

Product decision

Orenda Box or Orenda Connect?

Choose by what is missing in the workflow. Orenda Box adds the machine-side data and local application layer. Orenda Connect provides resource-specific remote access to apps and devices that already exist. They can also work together.

Choose Orenda Box

Best when the project needs an industrial edge computer beside the machine.

  • Collect selected PLC and machine data
  • Run local MES, SCADA, diagnostics, or approved edge apps
  • Turn status, counts, downtime, alarms, trends, and OEE into useful views

Choose Orenda Connect

Best when the target already exists and approved users need a private access path.

  • Open a specific app, server, device, RDP host, SSH host, or service
  • Assign access by user, group, and resource
  • Give a partner a target-scoped link with optional expiry and revocation
